Abdominoplasty before and after pictures or tummy tuck Paris

What is a tummy tuck ?

Abdominoplasty or tummy tuck can treat excess skin and excess fat in the belly that does not disappear despite sport and a balanced diet.

The abdominoplasty scar is placed on the lower abdomen to be hidden in swimsuits or underwear. The navel is preserved during this procedure.

The result is appreciable about 3 months after the intervention after disappearance of bruising and skin oedema.

Its price depends on the complexity of your case.

Support by social security is possible in the event of abdominal apron covering the pubis or diastasis recti, i.e. the relaxation of the abdominal muscles after pregnancy (mommy makeover).

After tummy tuck with transposition of the umbilicus, anticoagulant treatment is necessary for 15 days to prevent phlebitis and pulmonary embolism.

Eligible patients must have a BMI (body mass index) of less than 30.

Abdominoplasty involves a horizontal scar hidden in the underpants.

What is the modus operandi in our office in Paris ?

Before the operation

The medical consultation is mainly aimed at determining which solution will be best for you to treat the abdomen. There are many procedures for treating the abdomen (liposuction, mini abdominoplasty, bodylift). It will be necessary to take the time to examine all these possibilities, which are distinguished by:

  • Their complexity and risks
  • importance of recovery
  • time to return to sport
  • The scar
  • The cost

Dr Pessis and Abbou will examine you and advise you on the best solution for your case. There are some specificities in the case of an abdominoplasty for men.

An anaesthesia consultation and a preoperative blood test are also necessary.

Tummy tuck procedure

A tummy tuck is a term that covers several types of intervention:

  • This may involve removing the abdominal apron (excess skin).
  • Intervention much more complete and with a much more important and spectacular result.

Dr. Pessis and Abbou think that if you perform an abdominoplasty, you have to treat the entire belly in all its aspects. The goal is to get the maximum benefit and result from the intervention and get a flat stomach. They will therefore offer you the following treatment plan:

  • Liposuction of the belly to reduce the fatty thickness.
  • Repair of the abdominal muscle wall (systematic diastasis cure to refine the waist).
  • Pubic lift.
  • Resection of all excess skin to tighten the skin of the belly. (belly lift)
  • They will also offer you the upper abdominal high tension technique.
  • This technique allows the traction tension to be distributed over the entire abdominal wall. The goal is to improve the quality of the scar.
  • Finally, they will very often offer you the Urgotouch laser, which also improves the final scar.

The procedure takes place in the operating room under general anaesthesia. It lasts from 1h 30 to 3h, depending on the complexity of the actions to be performed. You will stay overnight at the clinic for post-operative monitoring.

Suites

The postoperative course includes :

  • Bruising for a fortnight, and oedema for a month.
  • You must wear a compression sheath for 6 weeks, and compression stockings for 15 days.
  • Sport is prohibited for 6 weeks.

The final result of the tummy tuck is already clearly visible after 6 months. It will only be final one year after the intervention.
