Hair mesotherapy is a cosmetic non surgical treatment for baldness that revitalizes the scalp and hair in depth to improve their appearance, volume, shine and density to treat traction alopecia, receding hairline, permanent hair loss

Mesotherapy improves the vascularization of the scalp and bulbs, thus reducing hair loss and stimulating hair growth for any type of hair loss

For female pattern baldness or female pattern hair loss, mesotherapy can treat hair loss after pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, telogen effluvium

For male pattern baldness, hair mesotherapy is used to treat androgenic alopecia.

What is hair mesotherapy ?

Mesotherapy of the hair and scalp consists of the administration of vitamins to the hair through superficial injections. The active products are injected directly into the scalp.

In severe cases of hair loss for therapeutic purposes, we offer a mesotherapy protocol using platelet-rich plasma (PRP).

To benefit from the PRP mesotherapy protocol, it is necessary to have significant hair loss.

Our mesotherapy protocol includes four sessions spaced two weeks apart.

Light therapy using LED lamps allows us to potentiate the effects of mesotherapy after each injection session.

What are the objectives of mesotherapy for hair?

  • To slow down hair loss
  • Stimulate hair growth
  • Improve hair volume
  • Improve hair quality

  • Treat patchy hair loss

Who are candidates for hair mesotherapy ?

Mesotherapy of the scalp is intended for all patients who lose hair.

Mesotherapy of the scalp can slow down hair loss and stimulate hair growth in patients with common cause of hair loss, hormonal disorders after pregnancy, childbirth and menopause or those with genetic androgenic hair loss.

How is hair mesotherapy performed ?

Before mesotherapy

Medical consultation for cosmetic surgery to analyze hair loss and the stage of baldness. Your surgeon will develop a treatment plan tailored to your case.

Course of the intervention

Your plastic surgeon injects different substances depending on the targeted treatment. The substances can be vitamins, growth factors, minerals, enzymes.

In general terms, mesotherapy consists of three different injection techniques that treat the skin at three different levels:

  • First the epidermal level
  • Then the dermo-epidermal level called “papule
  • Finally the intradermal level called “nappage”.

These three techniques have different objectives because they reach different depths of the skin.

Depending on the patient and the quality of the skin, we need to use one, two or all three. Therefore, we normally start with a careful examination of the patient. It should be kept in mind that the French approach to aesthetic treatments should have natural results without over-correction. For this reason, we recommend a comprehensive diagnosis.

We inject mesotherapy treatments with the U 225 injector gun to ensure your comfort and absence of pain during the treatment at our medical office. There is no side effect.

The aftermath of mesotherapy

The effects of our mesotherapy protocol to slow down hair loss and stimulate regrowth are visible six months after the beginning of the treatment. This is the time needed for satisfactory and visible hair growth.

After your scalp mesotherapy session, you can resume your activities almost immediately.

FAQs

Why is mesotherapy for hair effective?

  • It is a logical technique: why swallow an anti-inflammatory if it can be applied directly under the lesion?
  • It is a simple technique
  • It is a technique that allows total compliance since it is the practitioner who administers the treatment. In addition to the activation of fibroblasts thanks to the active ingredients of the bio-revitalization cocktails, mesotherapy also acts through the mechanical action of the micro-punctures and could be considered as stimulotherapy.

What is PRP in the treatment of baldness?

PRP or platelet-rich plasma is a regenerative medicine treatment that is approved only for therapeutic purposes when hair loss occurs. Regular treatments slow down hair loss and can increase hair density and diameter.

How many sessions of PRP are needed to see results on hair loss?

Our therapeutic protocol for PRP injections includes four sessions spaced two weeks apart. The results are noticeable six months after the beginning of the treatment. Thereafter, one maintenance session per year is recommended.

Can PRP injections be done after hair transplants?

Yes, PRP improves the grafting of hair during hair transplantation and accelerates the regrowth of the transplanted hair.

What are the benefits of PRP treatment for hair loss ?

  • PRP therapy is non-surgical, with no downtime or aftercare.
  • The entire procedure takes about 60 min.
  • A review of 2019 studies reveals that overall, men and women have positive results in terms of increased hair thickness and regrowth.
  • The primary goal of PRP is to slow or stop the progression of hair loss.
  • Less expensive than hair transplantation.

What are the alternatives to PRP for hair loss?

If you want more permanent and dramatic results, hair transplants may be the answer.

FUE (follicular unit extraction) is the most common type of hair transplantation performed. The surgeon removes individual hair follicles, then re-implants them through tiny incisions. This procedure involves less downtime and pain than FUT, and doctors often use devices such as the ARTAS robot or NeoGraft to harvest the follicles.

FUT (follicular unit transplant) remains the gold standard in hair restoration surgery. This method involves taking a horizontal strip of hair from the back of the head in the permanent area. The hair follicles are separated individually under dissection microscopes and then implanted into the areas of baldness or hair loss.
