Ultrasonic rhinoplasty has made rhinoplasty and nose surgery safer and more reproducible in order to obtain a natural result with simpler postoperative procedures.
This gentle rhinoplasty technique uses a device that uses ultrasound or high-speed sound waves: the piezotome.
This is a major advance in rhinoplasty techniques and also applies to conservation rhinoplasty techniques which aim to preserve and maintain the structures of the nose by reshaping rather than using ablative or destructive techniques.
The price of ultrasonic rhinoplasty starts at 6000 euros.
Social security coverage is available for functional rhinoplasty.
This information sheet on ultrasonic nasal surgery was written in June 2021 by Dr. Ralph ABBOU who is a qualified plastic surgeon by the Conseil de l’Ordre des Médecins in Paris specialized in nose and face surgery.
Dr. Ralph ABBOU defended his medical thesis on the subject of rhinoplasty and has published several scientific publications on the subject.
Dr. Ralph ABBOU participates in several congresses per year in France and abroad in order to maintain and perfect his theoretical and technical skills.
What is the procedure?
Although few plastic surgeons currently offer the procedure, ultrasonic rhinoplasty will grow in the coming years.
Surgical procedure | Price |

Definition of breast augmentation
It is a plastic surgery procedure that can improve the volume and shape of your breasts and correct sagging and loss of breast volume associated with age, weight loss, pregnancy or feeding with milk.
This procedure is usually performed with breast implants. They are available in a wide range of diameters, volumes, and projections, and your surgeon can suggest a size that best suits your body and goals.
Breast implants filled with silicone gel or saline are inserted through an incision around the nipples (periareolar), under the breasts (in the crease under the breast), or in the armpit (transaxillary) and then placed under or over the muscle pectoral.
In some cases, implants are associated with fat transfer because the fat to achieve an even more natural result. Another augmentation option is a breast lift, which lifts sagging breasts and repositions the nipple in the correct position. It can be combined with implants.
It is intended for the following patients:
The procedure can be performed at any age from the age of 18. A minor patient is usually not considered fit to undergo an augmentation, but it is however possible in the context of malformation in reconstructive surgery.
This cosmetic surgery technique also corrects breast asymmetry.
My experience with ultrasonic rhinoplasty is that it is very useful because it allows for precise bone sculpting and offers more versatility during surgery. In addition, there is no collateral damage to the soft tissue since the ultrasound energy is transferred to the bone itself and does not affect the surrounding tissue. This means faster recovery times with little or no bruising in the early healing phase. The fact that the use of the hammer and osteotome is avoided allows for better surgical control, thus avoiding unwanted fractures and splintering of the bone. This is useful for very precise control of bone remodeling and reduces the revision rate of bone irregularities, but it still takes several months for the final stages of the healing stabilization period and to see the final result. In practice, after 7 days on average, you will have little bruising on your face, whereas for a traditional rhinoplasty, it takes more like 14 days to have no bruising on your face.
The answer to this question is that it is not the tool that matters for the best results, but the experience of the surgeon using the tool. My experience is that ultrasonic rhinoplasty is very useful because it allows for precise bone sculpting and is especially helpful in twisted noses, deviations and post-traumatic deformities. The ability to reshape and sculpt bone offers more versatility during surgery. In addition, there is no collateral soft tissue damage since the ultrasound energy is transferred to the bone itself and does not affect the surrounding tissue. This means faster recovery times with little or no bruising.
No, the price of rhinoplasty does not depend on the technique used but on the complexity of your case.
The fact that the hammer and chisel or osteotome technique is avoided allows for better control, thus avoiding unwanted fractures and uncontrolled bone chips. This is helpful in controlling bone remodeling very precisely and reduces the revision rate for bone irregularities so yes, ultrasonic rhinoplasty is a very good option for treating a nasal hump.
