Mini abdominoplasty Paris
The mini abdominoplasty or mini tummy tuck is a cosmetic surgery of the belly which allows to treat the slackening of the skin of the lower abdomen and the pubis under local or general anesthesia.
The post-operative follow-up is simpler than the abdominoplasty and the discharge can take place the same day (ambulatory)
The price of the mini abdominoplasty depends on the complexity of your case and the associated surgical procedures (liposuction, laser urgo touch, etc.)
This medical information sheet was written in January 2022 by Doctor Ralph ABBOU and Doctor Rachel PESSIS who are two cosmetic surgeons in Paris.

What is a mini abdominoplasty ?

What are the objectives of the mini tummy tuck ?
- Treating sagging skin on the lower abdomen
- Treat stretch marks and excess skin on the stomach
- Lift the pubic area
- Treatment of sagging belly after pregnancy
- Treating excess belly fat
- Improve a caesarean scar
Who is it for ?
The mini abdominoplasty is intended for people who :
- have a complex about their belly
- have excess skin and/or excess abdominal fat
- do not have enough excess skin to allow for a classic tummy tuck with transposition of the umbilicus
- desire a lighter procedure than a tummy tuck.
It can be combined with liposuction of the hips and a pubic lift. However, unlike the tummy tuck, this procedure does not treat the diastasis (abdominal muscle relaxation)
In practice, the mini abdominoplasty is most often intended for patients with moderate fat and skin excess, and who want a more complete procedure than liposuction but lighter than the tummy tuck, and with fewer scars.
What is the operating mode ?
Before the intervention

Mini Abdominoplasty is a much lighter procedure than Abdominoplasty and may be appropriate for you if you desire a lighter postoperative course and less scarring.
Dr. Pessis and Dr. Abbou will examine you, tell you which areas of your abdomen need to be treated, and advise you on the medical solution that is best for you.

Procedure of the mini abdominoplasty
The mini abdominoplasty takes place in the operating room and includes the following procedures
- Liposuction of the hips and abdomen to reduce the fatty thickness of the belly
- Lifting of the pubis
- Resection of the excess skin located under the umbilicus.
The procedure takes place in the operating room under general anesthesia or sedation (light general anesthesia) on an outpatient basis (without hospitalization) or with an overnight hospitalization. It lasts about 1h30.
Post-operative care
The postoperative period includes bruising for about two weeks, and edema for a month, which then gradually subsides. It is necessary to wear a support girdle for 4 weeks, and support stockings for 15 days. Sport is forbidden for one month.

FAQs
Questions & Answers
What are the differences between mini tummy tuck and tummy tuck?
The mini tummy tuck is for people concerned about excess fat and skin and stretch marks below the belly button. The incision for the full tummy tuck goes all the way down to the lower abdomen, just above the root of the pubic hair. The mini abdominal incision is also made just above the root of the pubic hair, but it is much shorter.
The post-operative effects and risks of the mini abdominoplasty are much lower than those of the tummy tuck.
