Definition: what is an endoscopic facelift ?

The malar lift allows the rejuvenation of the middle third of the face, i.e. the central part:

How is endoscopic facelift performed ?

Before the intervention

Two consultations with your cosmetic surgeon to plan your procedure and a 15-day cooling-off period.

During the consultation, your surgeon will analyze your face as a whole and propose a treatment plan adapted to your needs.

Course of the intervention

The procedure takes place in the operating room under general anesthesia. Two incisions are necessary to perform the surgical procedure.
The vertical suspension of the cheekbones will be performed using absorbable surgical sutures.
The procedure takes one to two hours. A bandage is put in place for the hours following the operation.

Post-operative care

The patient is discharged the next day without a bandage. A hydrating eye drop may be prescribed. An anti-pain treatment is prescribed.
During the first few days, you must rest as much as possible and avoid any violent effort.
During the 15 days following the operation, the patient should not be surprised or worried about the following surgical consequences:

• A hyper-correction (taut appearance of the skin)
• A diffuse edema of the face (swelling) that can increase rapidly (it is more marked on the second day than the first). In some cases, it can be asymmetrical.
• Then ecchymoses (bruises) in the region of the eyelids
• a non-painful irritation of the eye (redness of the eye)
• a cardboard-like sensation of the skin of the face.

Bruises and swelling disappear within the first 2 to 3 weeks. Some areas regress more slowly. The cardboard feeling disappears in a few months.

Scars are hidden under the eyelashes and in the hair. The only slightly visible scar is under the eyelashes and essentially in its external part.

It will gradually fade. After six to eight weeks, one can have a good idea of the final result.
