What is the treatment of female baldness ?
Every day, women lose 100 to 125 hairs. This is normal hair loss and is replaced. Visible hair loss occurs when hair does not grow back or when hair loss exceeds 125 hairs per day.
There are two medically known types of hair loss:
- Anagen effluvium can occur due to medications such as chemotherapy that poison the growing hair follicle.
- Telogen effluvium occurs when a large number of hair follicles enter the resting phase of the hair growth cycle. When the causes of telogen effluvium are treated, normal hair growth should return.
Plastic and aesthetic surgery places great importance on the treatment of hair loss in women through non-surgical methods (mesotherapy) and surgical methods (grafting, lowering of the hairline, etc.)
Your surgeon will have to establish a real long-term treatment plan that will take into account the evolution of the baldness. Indeed, a first untimely intervention, such as a frontal grafting session, could definitively close the door to a later scalp flap that could have been beneficial.

Course of treatment
For medical treatments: mesotherapy and light therapy, the treatments are performed at the doctor’s office, the aftermath is very simple and you can resume your activities immediately afterwards.
For surgical treatments (hair transplants, lowering of the hairline), the treatments are performed in the operating room under local or general anesthesia. You should allow about ten days to rest and for the swelling and bruising to disappear.
