Dermatological and aesthetic skin surgery Paris
Dermatological and aesthetic surgery treats skin lesions and skin diseases detected in dermatology consultations and improves the appearance of old scars by surgery or laser.
Dermatological surgery treats moles, skin cancers, skin tumors (lipomas, cysts…)
When the treatment decision is difficult to make (atypical tumor, large or badly placed tumor whose removal involves noble organs, doubt about the margins), your file will be presented to a RCP (Multidisciplinary Consultation Meeting) where dermatologists, anatomopathologists, oncologists and surgeons are present; this meeting will be able to decide on the best treatment for you. Dr. Pessis and Dr. Abbou work with the RCP of the dermatology department of the Tenon Hospital (APHP).
This medical information sheet was written in July 2020 by Dr. ABBOU and Dr. PESSIS who are cosmetic surgeons in Paris. Dr. ABBOU and Dr. PESSIS are recognized by the Conseil de l’Ordre des Médecins in plastic reconstructive and aesthetic surgery and are members of the French Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. They regularly practice dermatological surgery in clinics, both in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery.

Process of your operation
Depending on the size of the lesion, the reconstruction to be performed and your state of health, the procedure can be performed at the offices of Dr. Abbou and Dr. Pessis or in the operating room. The procedure can be performed under local anesthesia, local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia depending on the importance of the procedure.
It can be performed in one step (removal-closure) or in two steps with several days in between to wait for the result of the anatomopathological analysis of the laboratory.
Post-operative care
The aftermath of dermatological surgery is marked by bruising and swelling for a few days.
Depending on your case, you may be able to resume your activities the same day or you may need to rest for a few days.
The scar will evolve over a year, and will fade over time.
